2007-01-04 Lawmaker to Repay Cost of Abramoff Trip

The expenses were reported by Feeney as usd. 5,643, paid by The National Center for Public Policy Research. A report prepared last year by Democrats on the Senate Finance Committee said the group used money from Abramoffs clients to sponsor golf trips in 2000 and 2003 to Scotland for members of Congress. Committee Republicans, who were in the majority, agreed to release the report.

Roe said Feeney stayed four or five days, paid his own golfing greens fees and then left Scotland for a personal vacation _ paying his own way back home. Roe said Feeney is still not certain who actually paid for the trip.

2007-01-03 Laytons lead Cavs through stormy year

Layton said the Cavalry raised more than usd. 4,000 for the Special Olympics of Wyoming with a golf tournament in June. The team also helped charities with other events, such as the Jackalope Jump, 50/50 raffles and ticket giveaways.

If the on-field happenings werent enough for the co-owners of the Wyoming Cavalry to worry about, some of the players had trouble keeping their names out of the news off the field.

That growth will continue in 2007. The season is scheduled to start in about three months, and the Laytons have been working for months on another golf tournament and other fundraising opportunities.
