Each year the Parks Department applies for these granst to plant new trees and to replace those trees that did not make it through Wyomings harsh winters. One grant is for planting trees in the parks as has been done in the past. The the other is for planting trees around the golf course. This grant also covers Arbor Day Celebration and establish Kemmerer as a Tree City

JACKSON, WYOMING - Teton County is foreclosing on nearly usd. 6 million in bonds issued to build infrastructure for a housing and golf development along the Snake River.

The Snake River Sporting Club has filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy, allowing its assets to be liquidated to pay creditors. Originally called the Canyon Club, the development received a final permit in 2003. Plans called for 63 lots, a golf course, clubhouse, common area and open space on 359 acres.

Coryells plans also include the removal of the Russian Olive trees at the Rec Center, not just because they are on the obnoxious weed list, but because they are invasive and have taken over the area, causing some security problems and are causing hazards for the members using the facilities. The Parks Department plans on replanting new shrubs and small to medium trees at the Rec. Center. The landscaping behind the Rec has been disturbed because of the construction on the school. More trees will also be planted at the golf course.

The final two races were sailed around a 12-nautical mile triangular course off Aucklands East Coast Bays. In Fitzroy Yachts race three, Silvertip, an Ed Dubois-designed 33. 8 metre sloop, proved well suited to the light conditions 7-8 knots to easily pass SY Janice of Wyoming, then SY Thalia and SY Naos on a shortened course to be saluted by the committee boats gun on the finish line.

The afternoons Southern Spars race four required two circuits of the triangular course and in 14-15 knots of breeze, the smallest yacht in the fleet, the 32-metre cutter rigged SY Naos started first and finished first much to the delight of all onboard. Janice of Wyoming crossed the line in second place to consolidate second place overall in the regatta while Silvertip finished third with Thalia fourth and Ragtime fifth.

The Casper Ice Arena will be hosting Skate Across America one Sunday each month during the 2008-09 season. The program started on the East Coast last fall and eventually will end up in Casper, Wyoming.

The Second Annual Casper Ice Bowl will be presented on Feb. 8 by the Casper Disc Golf Club.

The disc golf course is located across the North Platte River beyond the North Casper Soccer and Softball Complex.
