2010-08-27 Green River Star Sports United Way plans golf tourney and fun runThe United Way of Southwest Wyoming and rsquo;s 4th Annual Golf Tournament and 1st Running for Reading 5K Fun Run and Walk are looking for participants. The events will benefit the Dolly Parton Imagination Library of Southwest Wyoming. The Dolly Parton Imagination Library of Southwest Wyoming (DPILSW) is a partnership between United Way of Southwest Wyoming, Wyoming Kids First of Sweetwater County and Dolly Parton and rsquo;s Imagination Library. United Way of Southwest Wyoming was awarded usd. 10,000 from the John P. Ellbogen Foundation and usd. 1,000 from the Rock Springs Kiwanis to help fund the DPILSW. United Way continues to write grants and seek sponsors. To launch this successful program usd. 45,000 is still needed.
2010-08-25 Deseret News Campus beatThe Mountain West Conference coaches have selected both the BYU mens and womens cross country teams as the favorites to capture the MWC cross country titles in 2010. The MWC Cross Country Championships will take place in Laramie, Wyoming at Jacoby Golf Course. On the womens side, Colorado State finished third with 50 total points, Utah was fourth with 37 total points and Air Force was fifth with 34 total points. TCU (total points), Wyoming (26 total points), UNLV (20 total points) and San Diego State (9 total points) filled out the bottom portion of the conference, selected to the six through nine spots, respectively.

Kurt Jones, Brian Simon, Tanner Lunsford, Dylan Lym, Wacey Lym and Kolton Olson competed in this WJGA competition at the beautiful Green Hills Golf Club near the Worland airport. Members of the Evanston High School boys golf team represented Evanston well in the Wyoming Junior Golf Association Championship in Worland last Saturday and Sunday. The state Junior Am was the culminating event of the golf associations summer tour. 2010-07-22 Uinta County HeraldDylan Lym shot six-over par during the three round Wyoming State Golf Association Amateur Championship last weekend in Riverton to finish tied for eighth overall and third in his flight. Gabe Meier, of Cody, won the tournament shooting 11-under par. He was one of four members of the University of Wyoming golf team to compete in the tournament. The next golfer from Evanston was David OConnell, who finshed tied for 18th. OConnell shot seven-over par, during his first round, even for his second round and eight-over par in the third round. Dylan Lym shot six-over par during the three round Wyoming State Golf Association Amateur Championship last weekend in Riverton to finish tied for eighth overall and third in his flight. Kaufman Golf Course in Wyoming and Maple Hill Golf Course in Grandville. Hey. Both golf courses are in the City of Wyoming.
