2006-08-06 A little water during day goes a long way

The Royal Liverpool Golf Club hadnt received rained in some time, resulting in dormant fairways and spotty greens. The Brits rarely bother with irrigation systems in their usually-wet world, so theyve come to accept the occasional round on dormant grass. So have visitors like 2006 Open champion Tiger Woods. 2006-08-22 The Citizens Voice - News Briefs

BEAR CREEK TWP. State police at Wyoming are investigating a theft that took place at Wilkes-Barre Municipal Golf Course early Friday morning. A half keg of Miller Lite beer and a tap were stolen from Fairway No. 10, state police said.

They were driving a green Pontiac Grand Am that was previously reported stolen in Edwardsville. But when contacted, the owner told police it was not stolen, according to Hacken. The conflicting information prompted police to further investigate Harris and Starks local associations. Police are asking anyone with more information about Harris, Stark and any of their associates to call the Wyoming barracks at 693-2442.
