Intended to gather input regarding the states draft plan for 2006-2010, a regional meeting will take place from 9-10:30 a. m. at the City Hall in Rock Springs, 212 "D" St. Those unable to attend a meeting are asked to submit written comments by 5 p. m. on August 2. 2006-08-06 Wyoming CalendarThe Wyoming Childrens Access Network provides parent-education seminars for divorcing, separated and never-married parents. The seminar is provided monthly in Casper, Cheyenne, Cody, Gillette, Jackson, Lander, Laramie, Rawlins, Rock Springs, Sheridan and Torrington and provides information about the impact of parental conflict on children and teaches the parents skills to help with the difficult transition. Grandparents, aunts, uncles and other adults close to the children are welcome to attend as well. There is a nominal fee for the seminar that may be waived upon request, based on need. 2006-10-09 University of WyomingBurman, a 40-year-old native of Laramie, served between and as director of intercollegiate athletics at Portland State University. During that time the six-year graduation rate of PSU student athletes increased from 36 percent to 44 percent, 11 percent higher than the general university rate. Athletics successes included Big Sky Conference championships in mens basketball, womens soccer, softball and three championships in womens golf. Burman also hired coaches who were named conference coach of the year in soccer, golf, volleyball, and softball. Under Burmans leadership, annual giving to the Viking Athletic Fund for scholarships increased by more than 98 percent.
