Discussion centered around possible contamination of the aquifer from trucks on the Interstate to homeowners dumping oil, antifreeze or pesticides on their own land, which could contaminate the groundwater. The proposed Jacoby Golf Course expansion and Jacoby Ridge Development was brought up as a concern as well. Moody said that the council needs to treat the course like anybody else with a reasonable approach to reduce risk of contamination.

Councilman Bryan Shuster said he was not as concerned about the golf course, feeling the university would be careful about contamination. He said he was more concerned about homeowners that may dump oil or antifreeze on their property, or not mix pesticides and herbicides correctly, using too-high concentrations.
