2008-04-19 Charleston Daily Mail-News-Agents who attended BrickStreet meeting got Wiis

When news about BrickStreets April 2-4 meeting in Kentucky broke, Gov. Joe Manchin criticized the company for not having it in West Virginia. Burton subsequently wrote a letter to say BrickStreet is committed to West Virginia. He also said the company scheduled the meeting outside of West Virginia because the in-state resort it wanted was not available the week the company needed.

Burton said BrickStreet is concerned about how it is going to compete with national firms who are coming into West Virginia and are willing to spend significant resources to build agent relationships. He said some competitors are already working to enhance their agent relationships in West Virginia and some have had relationships for years through other lines of property and casualty insurance coverage.
