After tearing knee ligaments while playing basketball that winter, then going through a lengthy rehabilitation, Curley said she gave up other sports and focused on golf. Her goals were to stay dry and put the ball in the hole Tuesday, and Langleys Brigette Baker did both consistently enough to finish tops among area competitors at the Virginia golf championship.

He will also be the staff liaison to the VHSL Sports Medicine Advisory Committee, the Coaches Education Committee and the Virginia High School Coaches Association (VHSCA). Dolan has been athletic director at Jamestown since 1997. Previously he coached and taught at Lafayette (1992-97) and New Kent High Schools (1978-1992). During his 28-year career in education he coached golf, girls and boys basketball, football, baseball and volleyball.
