Vermont Golf 2009-05-232009-09-29 Aronsson and Ramirez named top August athletes The Burlington Free PressAronsson, a former four-sport standout at Rice Memorial High, shot a final round 68 to win the Vermont Womens Amateur at the Burlington Country Club. Aronsson, a senior at the University of Washington, led from start to finish and carded a three round total of 211 good enough for a 12 stroke victory. It was her third Vermont State Amateur win in four years (and was runner-up in 2008). The three-day total broke the tournament record set by Libby Smith at Neshobe in Brandon (2000) and bested more than 80 of the states top golfers. The final round of 68 by Aronsson ties the record set by Holly Reynolds in 1992 at the Manchester Country Club. Earlier in the month Aronsson reached match play at the U. S. Womens Amateur in St. Louis.
