2010-03-09 Readers Best Comments NewsI think the best advice to voters in eastern Edinburgh would be vote Lib Dem or even Tory. They surely must have a better candidate than these two jokers. I cringe every time I see or hear Mr Aitken with his huge wooden cross and I have rarely been more ashamed to be Scottish than when I was listening to MacAskill burbling on about a "higher power" to the worlds press. When did Scotland lose the ability to produce inspirational political figures Readers Best Comments - Strong views on Labours Holyrood candidate for Edinburgh Eastern, and a link found between golf and a club
2010-03-08 My little piece of Scotland: Cullen - Scotland on SundayMY SPECIAL place in Scotland is Cullen, which is a small town in the north of Scotland, on the Moray Firth coast. In the summer we stay there for three weeks, and sometimes we go for Christmas and Easter too. There is a really good golf course in Cullen, where I play with my granddad and dad. We usually play nine holes, but if I am lucky I get to play all 18. There is a really tricky hole where you have to play over a big hill. Afterwards we have a really good soup that is called Cullen skink at the clubhouse. 2010-03-06 Golf school is right on course NewsA golf academy is just an idea being punted around - its not a definite that it will actually happen. Hopefully the whole of Portobello will now get behind the plans for the new school and those involved in the on-going campaign against the new school will also support it and help to make it the best it can be. I do believe that the majority of families in the area with children at, or eventually going to, the High School will welcome a new school. In fact, I find it hard to believe that any parents would prefer their children to remain in the current school. Encouraging more youngsters to take up golf, even though its not actually a sport, will be a bonus. Golf school is right on course - THE new 41. 5 million Portobello High School is set to become Edinburghs first "golf academy", it emerged today.

Be a bigger test than normal for the likes of Gallacher due to the weather in Scotland recently. " Was a golf cart (or "golf buggy" to those wacky Brits) means little, of course. By 5. 30am he and one colleague were hungry. 2010-03-02 Whats new in Great Britain and Ireland in 2010 - EuropeScotland is also seeing changes in 2010. St. Andrews will be swamped with about 100,000 visitors this summer when it hosts the British Open to 18). Unless youre a golf pilgrim or a glutton for crowds, I recommend avoiding the town at this time. In Edinburgh, the Scottish National Portrait Gallery will be closed until 2011, and Princes Street, a major artery, continues to be a mess as the citys new tram line is built. A key to experiencing Great Britain and Ireland smartly in 2010 is to embrace them not as "ye olde" destinations but as modern ones.
