Wayne Gomes, the former major leaguer now involved in local baseball ventures, took 15 kids from the revived Anderson Park Little League on a trip this week that includes exposure to the games Negro Leagues, an Orioles game and a trip to an amusement park in Maryland.

The upshot was that Sims invited Gomes and his kids to Maryland as guests this week for ceremonies that include a press conference and meetings in Annapolis, an Orioles game with state officials, and a clinic with former New York Met Lenny Randle.
