2006-08-13 U-Md. Backup Quarterback Waits for Playtime to Begin

In the meantime, Steffy worked not only on learning the playbook but on expanding his interests, "sort of prioritizing and putting things in order," as he puts it. He never worried about schoolwork in high school and needed to take the SAT twice to qualify at Maryland; in college, hes received academic honors and is now considering a double major in kinesiology and business. He dabbled in community service in high school; now, hes in the process of forming his own charity to help children with medical problems. He has started to plan a charity golf tournament scheduled for next summer, and he has continued a friendship with Katie Hull, a 12-year-old Lancaster girl who has cerebral palsy.

2006-08-09 Spotlight: Mike Snyder, director of the Orlando-Orange County Expressway Authority-Orlando Sentinel : Growth Spotlight: Mike Snyder, director of the Orlando-Orange County Expressway

A civil engineer, he previously headed the Florida Department of Transportations district in Central Florida and had a similar role in Maryland. Today, he has become the Expressway Authoritys public face. Its a role that includes sharing television commercials with cartoon cars to highlight the benefits of expressway roads and taking flak from those opposed to new highways. He spoke recently with Sentinel reporter Jay Hamburg.

On a bad day, if theres an accident, its aggravating. On a normal school day, its about 50 minutes. But I used to commute 90 minutes one way in Maryland, so this is a piece of cake.

The story begins in 1998, when Dolphin and Bradbury underwrote a usd. 2. 4 million note issue for the Dauphin County General Authority to help finance the development of a golf course in Franklin County, near the Maryland border.

Bradbury didnt tell his clients about those moves. Nor did he tell them that after receiving a subpoena from the SEC in 2002, he started transferring almost all of his assets to his wife.
